How to Find Your Perfect Ring Size
Because my gemstone rings cannot be resized later, we want to get your size exactly right on the very first try! Here are three easy ways to find your perfect fit at home.
1. Use a Ring You Already Own
If you have a ring that already fits your finger perfectly, you can measure its inside diameter:
-
Lay the ring flat on a ruler.
-
Measure the inside edge-to-edge distance in millimetres (ignore the metal walls).
-
Let me know that measurement in millimetres, and I can match it to the perfect UK letter size for you!
2. The Paper & Ruler Trick
If you don't have a matching ring, you can easily measure your finger using household items:
-
Cut a thin, straight strip of paper (about 1cm wide).
-
Wrap it snugly around the base of your finger. Tip: Make sure it can slide comfortably over your knuckle!
-
Mark the exact spot where the paper overlaps with a pen.
-
Lay the paper flat against a ruler and measure the length to the mark in millimetres to get your finger's circumference.
3. Order a Plastic Ring Sizer
If you want to be 100% confident, you can buy a cheap, reusable plastic multi-sizer online (they look like a little zip-tie belt). It is the most accurate DIY method!
Top Sizing Tips:
-
Check the temperature: Fingers shrink when cold and swell when warm. Measure your hands at the end of the day when they are at a normal, comfortable room temperature.
-
Wide bands feel tighter: If you are ordering a ring with a very wide band, it will feel tighter than a thin ring. You may want to go up half a size.
